A few examples of some of the things I've done in the past :
during my time as a co-op student I was able to work at Sobeys in the bakery department and pick up on a few things. I was taught the basics and had to learn all the typical things the decorators had to do daily. For example; cake orders, pastries for the service counter, and etc.
This is just an example of a cake order I had to do for someones 50th.
These are a few banana creme pies I made in the bakery at Sobeys for purchasing.
These are a few chocolate dessert cup pastries I had to decorate one day while on the job.
For my grade 12 hospitality summative I had to make a menu and then make actually prepare it. This included three courses; an appetizer, entre and dessert using ingredients chosen from a list. From the ingredients chosen for us I decided to go with mashed potatoes with gravy and steamed vegetables with fried chicken topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions. I had most fun with the dessert though, for the dessert I went with an apple caramel cinnamon parfait cup.
